

My latest quilt I made as a wedding gift for some friends. The pattern is City Blocks by Cherri House. I picked it because these friends are sailors and the colors reminded me of the colors of the sea. I also thought that the solids worked well for something gender neutral - I didn't want anything too girly.
I had it long-arm quilted and she did a wonderful job - I think the quilting makes it look in motion - exactly what I wanted. For the back, I added a Mariner's Compass paper-pieced block to continue the sailing theme. And the improv'd LOVE since it's for a marriage. The backing is from Amy Butler (I forget which line).
