Quilt Festival

Purple-Lavender Quilt
Hi and welcome! The quilt pictured is one that I made for the Wrapped in Hope part of Margaret's Hope Chest. Wrapped in Hope donates quilts to children who have a parent in prison. The quilt is sent as a gift from that parent. I chose a girl who was turning 16 and likes purple and lavender. I wanted to make something that she would love forever and thought through a lot of options. I saw these pictures on Two Dogs and a Quilt (http://twodogsandaquilt.blogspot.com/2011/03/infinite-variety.html) and decided to do something in solids and use one of the patterns. I used the design in the bottom picture at the very bottom (the entire quilt isn't even showing). Once finished, I had a long-arm quilter do the quilting since it turned out too big for me to be able to handle.

I forgot to take a picture of the back, but it is an ikat fabric with greens and grays. The binding is gray to work with the back and it also worked well with the purples, etc.

I really enjoyed making the quilt and hope that the recipient loves it.

ps. I found an error in my piecing after putting the top together. Hopefully, it isn't too noticable :)

Thanks to Amy for hosting the Quilt Festival again. I love to see everyone's work.
